File Organization

Keep your files organized with folders, tags, and smart linking. This guide covers organization strategies and features.

Folder Structure

Creating Folders

  1. Go to Files
  2. Click + New Folder
  3. Enter folder name
  4. Choose parent folder (optional)
  5. Create

Nested Folders

Create hierarchical structures:

  • Company Name/
    • Project Alpha/
      • Designs/
      • Documents/
    • Project Beta/

Moving Files to Folders

  1. Select file(s)
  2. Click Move or drag to folder
  3. Files relocate

Tags

Adding Tags

  1. Select a file
  2. Click Add Tag
  3. Choose existing or create new
  4. Tag applies

Using Tags

  • Filter files by tag
  • Color-code for visual organization
  • Combine multiple tags

Suggested Tags

  • final — Approved versions
  • draft — Work in progress
  • client-facing — For client sharing
  • internal — Team only

Search & Filter

Type in the search box to find by:

  • File name
  • Tags
  • File type
  • Date

Advanced Filters

Combine filters:

  • File type
  • Date range
  • Linked project/client
  • Tags
  • Owner

Best Practices

  1. Consistent naming — Use clear, descriptive names
  2. Folder by project — Group related files
  3. Tag liberally — Tags enable cross-cutting views
  4. Archive old files — Keep active files manageable
  5. Version control — Use versioning for iterations
