Client Activity
The Activity timeline gives you a complete view of all interactions, changes, and events related to a client. Use it to stay informed and pick up where you left off.
Accessing the Activity Timeline
- Open any client record
- Click the Activity tab
The timeline displays events in reverse chronological order (newest first).
Types of Activity
The activity timeline captures various types of events:
Communication
| Type | Description |

| 📧 Emails | Sent and received emails |
| 📞 Calls | Logged phone calls |
| 💬 Messages | Internal messages about the client |
Record Changes
| Type | Description |

| ✏️ Edits | Changes to client information |
| 🏷️ Tags | Tags added or removed |
| 🏢 Company | Company associations changed |
Projects & Tasks

Filtering Activity
To focus on specific types of activity:
- Click the Filter dropdown above the timeline
- Select one or more activity types:
- All Activity
- Emails
- Notes
- Projects
- Files
- Changes
- The timeline will update to show only selected types
Activity Details
Click on any activity item to see more details:
Email Activity
- Preview of email content
- Sender and recipients
- Attachments
- Link to view full email
Project Activity
- Project name and status
- What changed (status, assignment, etc.)
- Who made the change
File Activity
- File name and type
- File size
- Link to download or preview
Adding Activity Manually
Some activities are logged automatically, but you can also add manual entries:
Log a Phone Call
- In the Activity tab, click + Log Activity
- Select Phone Call
- Enter details:
- Call direction (incoming/outgoing)
- Duration
- Summary/notes
- Click Save
Log a Meeting
- Click + Log Activity
- Select Meeting
- Enter details:
- Meeting date and time
- Attendees
- Meeting notes
- Follow-up actions
- Click Save
Activity Search
Find specific activities quickly:
- Use the search box in the Activity tab
- Search by:
- Keywords in notes or emails
- User names
- Project names
- Date ranges
Activity Timeline Best Practices
Keep It Updated
- Log calls and meetings promptly
- Add notes after important conversations
- Record decisions and next steps
Use It for Handoffs
When another team member takes over a client:
- Share the client record
- Point them to the Activity tab
- They can see the full history
Review Before Meetings
Before meeting with a client:
- Open their Activity timeline
- Review recent interactions
- Note any pending items or follow-ups
Activity Notifications
Get notified about client activity:
- Open the client record
- Click the Bell icon to follow
- Choose notification preferences:
- All activity
- Only mentions
- Daily summary
Exporting Activity
To export a client's activity history:
- Open the client record
- Go to the Activity tab
- Click ⋮ menu
- Select Export Activity
- Choose format (PDF or CSV)
- Download the file
This is useful for:
- Client reports
- Handoff documentation
- Compliance records
