Password Requirements

Shorebird OS enforces password security to protect your account and data.

Minimum Requirements​

Passwords must have:

  • ✅ At least 8 characters
  • ✅ One uppercase letter
  • ✅ One lowercase letter
  • ✅ One number
  • ✅ One special character (!@#$%^&*)

Password Strength​

The password meter shows:

LevelMeaning
🔴 WeakDoes not meet requirements
🟡 FairMeets minimum
🟢 StrongExceeds requirements

Aim for Strong passwords.

Password Tips​

Do:

  • Use a password manager
  • Use unique passwords
  • Enable two-factor auth

Don't:

  • Use personal info
  • Reuse passwords
  • Share passwords

Changing Your Password​

  1. Click avatar → Profile
  2. Go to Security
  3. Enter current password
  4. Enter new password
  5. Confirm new password
  6. Save

Forgot Password​

  1. Go to login page
  2. Click Forgot Password
  3. Enter your email
  4. Check email for reset link
  5. Create new password

Admin Password Policies​

Administrators can enforce:

  • Password expiration
  • Password history
  • Login attempt limits

Settings → Security → Password Policy
